Your name is Sollux Captor, and today, you are a mild-mannered working man who happens to have a conference with some low-tech morons in Skaiaopolis. You do try to act cheerful, but you aren’t much for crowd or people, even when it means using your mad skills to help earn yourself some money.

Of course, nothing ever runs smoothly for a guy who secretly wears tights- Especially when that guy happens to be two people. Just as you’re about to close the deal with these freaks in suits, you’re interrupted by a terrifiying—

The group is rushed out of the building in a panic. You on the other hand, find your way up onto the roof. The smoke coming up over the buildings means there is, once again, shit that need your heroing expertise.

Once you are certainly out of view from the crowd of workers barreling out of the buildings, you put the flat piece of metal between your fingers.

As Castor and Pollux, The Twin Agnostics, You barrel toward the eminent danger.

“HAHAHAAH honk! hahahahaa HONK!”

Over the smoke, you both can see a strange whit balloon with a purple emblem painted on it’s front. Over a speaker set up in the little balloon, the maniacal and strange laughter rings as the crowd below panics.

Pollux thinks quickly from his place in the air and fires at the obvious culprit—

“uh..”

“niice goiing, geniius. you’re two good at thiis. really.”

“hey fuck you! iit wa2 an aciident!!”

The two of you begin to bicker, until something interrupts you.

“AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!”

The crowd is trapped and screaming beneath your feet as you float with Castor’s powers.

“we dont have tiime for thii2, C2. the whole fuckiin downtown’2 on fiire.”

“hm…hey! can you shoot the fuck out of all the fiire hydrants?”

“….ah yeah ii get iit.”

Castor lowers her brother to the ground, where he runs the whole park blasting open the many hydrants scattered throughout. If they didn’t catch him, at least they could save the civillians.

The people cheer in thanks for your help.

The day is saved…well, mostly. You still have a lot to do for the sick and injured, but now that the fires are out, there shouldn’t be much problem from him, right?

Then, Castor looked at you like you’d just shot him in the gut. That was the really reason you two were always fighting. Fighting over who was really Sollux, and who was the useless half that didn’t need to exist. Who got what they wanted, and who had to sit in the back of his mind and watch. You didn’t flinch when he snarled at you and began to kick up sand with his powers, you just readied your self for a fight.

Castor gripped around your neck, and you shot at him.

That was when you realized it was the biggest mistake you had ever made. Both of you collapsed to the ground, screaming. You could feel static running through you, right up from your gut and you could see from his reaction.

Whatever he did to you, he felt it, and whatever you did to him, you did.

You two couldn’t kill each other if you wanted to. It would be suicide.

Castor held onto his half-crushed neck and gasped for breath. You watched him as you slowly recovered from the pain of the blast you’d sent him. You never knew how badly that hurt until now. He squinted up at you, slightly shaking from his spot on the ground.

You sigh, and force yourself to get up, and walk over to him. “…ii gue22..ii wa2 beiing a liittle har2h…”

“….ii messed up…”

“2o diid ii.”

He looks up at you as you reach a hand down to help him up.

“that’2 enough traiiniing for one day, alriight?”

“…yeah.”

He took your hand, and the two of you became Sollux once more. He walked back to the lab, sore and tired. “….he wa2 wrong…ii need you both.”
